Privacy

The photos belong to you.

GroupCapture is a tool for sharing photos at events. This page explains what we collect, why, and the controls you have. Plain English first, the legal version underneath.

01

What we collect

For hosts: your email, name, the events you create, the photos uploaded to those events, and basic billing details when you pay for a plan (handled by Stripe).

For guests: the photos you upload and an optional display name if you choose to attach one. We do not require a guest sign-up; we don’t link uploads to a profile you carry between events.

We log standard request data (timestamps, anonymised IP, user agent) for security and abuse prevention. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.

02

Why we collect it

To run the product: render event pages, deliver uploads, generate album downloads, send the few transactional emails the service needs (sign-in, receipts, event invitations).

We use aggregate counts (events created, photos uploaded) to understand whether the product is healthy. Those counts never identify a person.

03

Who sees it

Event pages are visible to anyone with the link. Hosts can hide a page from search engines and pull it down at any time. Photos are served from a private object store and proxied through signed URLs.

We never sell your data. We never hand it to third parties for advertising. We do share what’s needed with the processors listed in section 06.

04

How long we keep things

Photos live for as long as the host’s plan retention window allows, then we delete them. Free events have a short retention window after the event date; paid plans get longer.

Account-level data is kept while your account is active. Delete your account from the dashboard and we remove your events and photos within thirty days, except where we’re required to retain records for tax or legal reasons (typically receipts).

05

Your controls

Hosts can edit, hide, or delete events at any time. Guests can request removal of a photo they uploaded; ask the host first, or email us if the host is unreachable.

If you’re in the EU, UK, California, or another jurisdiction with similar laws, you have the usual rights: access, correction, deletion, portability, and the right to object. Use the contact page and we’ll handle it within thirty days.

07

Contact
